The Skin Consultation
A skin consultation at The Glow Co. Aesthetics is a proper, unhurried conversation with Nurse Lisa about your skin as it is now, and where you'd like it to go.
- A detailed clinical assessment under proper lighting — skin type, barrier health, texture, hydration and active concerns.
- An honest conversation about what's bothering you and what realistic outcomes look like.
- A discussion of whether in-clinic treatments like Skin Needling or Murad Facials would genuinely support your goals.
You walk out with clarity, not a trolley full of products. The consultation fee is redeemable against any treatment or product purchase on the day.
The Murad Prescription
Every skin consultation includes a written Murad Skincare prescription — completely personalised to your skin, your concerns, and your goals. Not a generic starter kit. A considered clinical protocol designed by Nurse Lisa specifically for you.
A typical prescription covers your morning and evening routine step by step: cleanser, treatment serum, moisturiser, and daily SPF. Each product is selected for your skin type, barrier condition, and what you're trying to address — whether that's acne, pigmentation, sensitivity, the effects of ageing, or simply building a routine you've never quite managed to get right.
The prescription is yours to keep whether or not you purchase anything in clinic.
A complete picture of your skin
Skin Assessment
A detailed clinical evaluation of your skin type, condition, barrier health, hydration levels, pigmentation, texture and any active concerns. Lisa examines your skin under proper lighting and discusses your full skin history — products you've used, treatments you've tried, what's worked and what hasn't.
Concern Discussion
An honest conversation about what's bothering you and what your goals are. Whether that's persistent acne, sun damage, uneven texture, dullness, rosacea, sensitivity, or simply wanting to age well — this is the space to talk through it without any pressure to commit to anything.
Treatment Recommendations
Based on your assessment, Lisa will recommend the in-clinic treatments that are genuinely appropriate for your skin — which may include skin needling, Murad clinical peels, LED light therapy, or a combination. She'll explain why each recommendation suits your specific concern and what realistic outcomes look like.
Skincare Prescription
A personalised written skincare protocol covering your morning and evening routine — product by product, step by step. Lisa prescribes from the full Murad clinical range and recommends Airyday SPF for daily protection. This prescription is yours to keep whether or not you purchase anything in-clinic.
Makeup Guidance
If relevant to your concerns, Lisa can also introduce Guiya Minerals — a clean mineral makeup range that works with your skin rather than against it. Particularly useful for patients managing acne, sensitivity or rosacea, where conventional makeup can aggravate the very concerns you're trying to address.
Preventative Planning
Good skin care isn't just about fixing problems — it's about preventing them. Lisa will discuss the proactive steps that protect your skin long-term: daily SPF, barrier maintenance, seasonal adjustments, and the lifestyle factors that matter more than most people realise in the Brisbane climate.

Better In-Clinic Results
Skin taken care of at home responds dramatically better to treatments. A good routine protects every facial, peel and advanced treatment.
Consistency Over Complexity
Patients who commit to their home routine are happiest at 3, 6 and 12 months.
Calm in the Routine
Knowing what to reach for in the morning — that's a form of care that extends well beyond the face.
Frequently Asked
It's strongly recommended for new patients. A consultation ensures Lisa understands your skin before recommending or performing any treatment — which leads to better outcomes and avoids unnecessary procedures. If you've had a recent consultation and your skin hasn't changed significantly, you may be able to book a treatment directly.
Come with a clean face if possible — no makeup, sunscreen or heavy moisturiser. If that's not practical, Lisa can cleanse your skin in clinic. It's also helpful to bring a list of the skincare products you currently use, and any medications that might affect your skin.
No. The consultation fee is redeemable against purchases, but there is no expectation that you buy anything on the day. Lisa's job is to assess your skin and give you honest, evidence-based guidance. The decision about what to do with that information is entirely yours.
No. A skin consultation focuses on your skin's health, condition and daily care — covering concerns like acne, pigmentation, texture, hydration and sun damage, and recommending treatments and skincare accordingly. Aesthetics consultations are a separate service for patients who want to discuss concerns that may involve prescription-only options.
Yes. Skin consultations are available to patients of all ages — particularly those dealing with teenage acne or early skin concerns. A parent or guardian is welcome to attend. The consultation will focus on age-appropriate skincare and clinical skin treatments only.
Your prescription is a written protocol covering your full morning and evening skincare routine — each product selected specifically for your skin type, condition and concerns. It will typically include a cleanser, one or more treatment serums, a moisturiser, and a daily SPF. Lisa will walk you through every step before you leave.
For most patients, a review every six to twelve months is appropriate — or sooner if your skin changes significantly (new concerns, season change, pregnancy, starting new medications). If you're actively working through a treatment course, Lisa will advise on check-in timing as part of your plan.
This page is general information only. It is not personalised medical advice. All treatments are subject to an in-clinic assessment with a Registered Nurse. Treatment outcomes vary between individuals.
