Understanding facial volume & contour

Plain-language information about how the face changes structurally over time, why those changes happen, and the unhurried consultations that help you make informed decisions about your cosmetic care.

You must be 18 years or older to book an aesthetics consultation at The Glow Co. Aesthetics.

UNDERSTANDING YOUR CONCERN

What changes to facial volume look like

Facial ageing is rarely just about wrinkles. Bone density changes, fat pads shift position, ligaments gradually lose tension, and connective tissue restructures — all of this happens simultaneously, beneath the surface. The common experience of “looking tired” or “my face doesn’t reflect how I feel” is a real structural observation, not vanity. Understanding what is happening — and why — is the first step to making an informed decision about what, if anything, you’d like to do about it.

YOUR NEXT STEP

What a consultation can cover

Nurse Lisa begins with a thorough facial assessment and an honest conversation about what is structural, what is skin-related, and what may be a mix. Where appropriate, she will facilitate a discussion with a prescribing medical practitioner about clinical suitability. She provides realistic information about what can and cannot be achieved non-surgically, and her approach is rarely about a single intervention. Conservative, gradual planning is central to the way she works.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Questions we often hear

How do I know if my concern is volume loss or something else? +
Often it’s both — and understanding the difference is one of the most useful things a consultation can clarify. Nurse Lisa will assess what’s structural, what’s skin-related, and what may be a mix, in plain language.
Is there an age when I should start thinking about this? +
Not really. Some patients come in their early 30s wanting to understand what’s beginning to change; others come decades later. There’s no right age — only the right time for you.
What if Nurse Lisa thinks I don’t need anything? +
Then that’s exactly what she’ll say. Honest is non-negotiable at The Glow Co. A consultation that concludes with “now isn’t the right time” is a legitimate and respected outcome.
