Men's Skin Health.
A proper conversation about your skin, without the noise, the product overload, or the assumption that you don't care. Men's skin is different. Nurse Lisa treats it that way.
Book a ConsultationWhy Men's Skin Needs Different Thinking
Men's skin is structurally different, thicker dermis, higher sebum production, larger pores, and daily mechanical stress from shaving. These aren't minor variations. They change what works, what doesn't, and what your skin actually needs.
Most skincare advice ignores this entirely. Most product ranges assume a female patient. At The Glow Co. Aesthetics, Nurse Lisa approaches every consultation from what's in front of her, not a demographic assumption.
Whether your concern is texture, breakouts, redness from shaving, sun damage, or something you've never quite known the name for, this is the right place to start.
Concerns Men Commonly Raise
- Oily skin, enlarged pores and congestion that won't shift
- Razor irritation, ingrown hairs and post-shave redness
- Sun damage and uneven skin tone from years of outdoor work or sport
- Adult acne or breakouts that started or continued after teenage years
- Lines, texture and changes in skin quality, when it's time to do something about them
- A complete absence of a skincare routine, and where to start
- Curiosity about cosmetic consultations, without wanting to commit to anything yet
What a Skin Consultation Covers
A skin consultation with Nurse Lisa is the foundation of every skin plan. Before any treatment or product recommendation, she needs to understand your skin, not a category of patient, your skin specifically.
A good starting point if you
- Have never had a professional skin assessment and want to know where your skin actually stands
- Are dealing with breakouts, congestion or razor irritation that over-the-counter products haven't resolved
- Have visible sun damage or uneven skin tone from years of outdoor work or sport in Queensland
- Want a simple, evidence-based skincare routine that actually fits into your life
- Were sent here by a partner, friend or colleague, and are open to having one proper conversation about your skin
Clinical Skin Assessment
A thorough assessment under clinical lighting, skin type, barrier function, texture, hydration, oil balance, active concerns and any inflammatory conditions.
Your Skin History
Medical background, lifestyle, current products (even if that's just whatever soap is in the shower), sun exposure history and any treatments you've had before.
Honest Assessment
What's actually happening to your skin, in plain language. What's realistic to address and what isn't, without sales pressure or a product-first agenda.
A Skincare Prescription
A written morning and evening routine using Murad Skincare, selected specifically for your skin type and concerns. Simple enough to actually stick to.
Treatment Recommendations
Where in-clinic treatments like skin needling or Murad clinical peels would genuinely help, with a clear explanation of why, and what to expect.
Aesthetics Discussion
If you're curious about cosmetic consultations for lines, jaw or facial concerns, Lisa will explain what's involved clinically, honest, unhurried, and evidence-informed.
From First Appointment to Ongoing Care
Book a Skin Consultation
A 45–60 minute appointment with Nurse Lisa. No preparation required, just come in as you are. Available Monday to Saturday at Gordon Park.
Assessment & Prescription
Lisa assesses your skin and builds your prescription during the appointment. You leave with a written routine and clear next steps, nothing ambiguous.
In-Clinic Treatments
If appropriate, in-clinic skin treatments are recommended and scheduled. Skin needling, Murad peels, or a combination, based on what your skin needs.
Ongoing Support
Follow-up consultations as your skin changes. Your routine evolves with your skin, and Lisa is available for questions between appointments.
Men's Skin Concerns, A Starting Point
These are the concerns patients raise most often. Not a treatment menu, a reference point. Your consultation is where the specifics are discussed.
In-Clinic Treatments & At-Home Care
Every recommendation follows from your skin assessment. Lisa only suggests what she genuinely believes will help your skin, and will always explain why.

These are the products Nurse Lisa most commonly recommends as a starting point for men's skin. Your prescription will be built specifically for you, these are a reference, not a default routine.

Dual-action exfoliating cleanser, clears congestion, refines pores and controls oil. Suits oily and combination skin, and works well over post-shave skin.

Lightweight gel moisturiser that delivers hydration without heaviness. The right texture for men who don't want to feel like they're wearing skincare.

Fragrance-free SPF50 that disappears into the skin. The daily non-negotiable for anyone spending time outdoors in Brisbane, particularly recommended for men's skin.

Vitamin C and glycolic acid combined, targets sun damage, uneven tone and dullness. Particularly relevant for men with accumulated UV exposure.

A targeted treatment for lines and skin quality, supports collagen and firms skin texture. Often recommended as part of an ageing skin protocol for men in their 40s and beyond.

Microbiome-balancing serum for oily, blemish-prone skin. Targets the root cause of congestion rather than just managing the surface, a first-step recommendation for breakout-prone men.

Book a Skin ConsultationWhy This Approach Works
Assessment Before Action
Men's skin is frequently over-treated or incorrectly treated because it isn't assessed properly first. Starting with a clinical picture means every recommendation is the right one, not the standard one.
Simple Routines That Actually Stick
Lisa prescribes routines that fit real lives. A two-step morning routine done consistently beats a ten-step routine done twice. The result is patients who actually follow their prescription.
Better In-Clinic Results
Skin prepared and maintained at home responds significantly better to in-clinic treatments. The home routine isn't an add-on, it's what makes everything else work.
Frequently Asked
Yes. A meaningful proportion of our patients are men, across a wide age range. The concerns vary from a first-ever skincare conversation to ongoing cosmetic consultations. The clinic is a clinical environment, not a spa, which tends to suit men who want honest advice without the atmosphere.
Not at all, it's actually helpful, because there's no existing routine to unpick. Lisa will assess your skin as it is and build a prescription from scratch. Most men leave with a three or four product routine that's simple enough to actually use.
A skin consultation focuses on your skin's health, covering concerns like congestion, texture, hydration, sun damage and barrier function, and recommending skincare and in-clinic treatments like needling and peels. A cosmetic aesthetics consultation is a separate, private appointment with Nurse Lisa where your facial concerns are discussed clinically. Both are available at The Glow Co. Aesthetics and both begin with an in-person assessment.
No. Nurse Lisa is a Registered Nurse, not a GP. A skin consultation covers cosmetic skin concerns, texture, pigmentation, ageing, acne, hydration and routine building. For skin concerns that may require medical diagnosis (suspicious moles, skin lesions, infections), your GP or a dermatologist is the appropriate first step.
Come as you are. Ideally without heavy moisturiser or sunscreen applied just before, so Lisa can assess your skin in its natural state, but if that's not practical, she can cleanse your skin at the clinic. It helps to have a rough idea of your current products (even if the answer is none) and any concerns you'd like to discuss.
