Murad professional skin peels are one of the most requested treatments at The Glow Co. Aesthetics — and for good reason. They deliver visible results with minimal downtime, they suit a wide range of skin concerns, and because every peel is tailored to your skin at consultation, there's an appropriate starting point for everyone from first-timers to experienced peel clients. Here's how our Murad peel treatments work and what to expect.
What are Murad professional peels?
Murad professional peels are clinical-grade chemical exfoliation treatments using Murad's proprietary formulations. Unlike at-home exfoliants, professional peels are applied in a controlled clinical environment, at concentrations and combinations that produce more significant results. As an official Murad professional treatment provider and stockist in Brisbane, I use authentic Murad clinical formulations for every in-clinic peel at The Glow Co. Aesthetics.
One tailored treatment, matched to your skin
We no longer work from a fixed menu of pre-set peel "levels". Instead, our Murad Skin Treatment is a single, consultation-led treatment tailored entirely to your skin on the day. The peel strength is adjusted across a wide range — from a gentle 12% through to a more intensive 68% — based on your skin type, your concerns, your tolerance, and where you are in your treatment plan. One person might have a light, brightening resurface with no downtime; another might have a deeper correction. The treatment meets your skin where it is.
The Murad Skin Treatment starts from $145 and runs for 30 to 60 minutes. It's suited to dullness, uneven texture, fine lines, pigmentation, sun damage and dehydration. Because the strength is chosen at your appointment, downtime varies: lower strengths typically leave you with nothing more than a healthy glow, while higher strengths can produce a few days of visible skin renewal. I'll always tell you honestly what to expect before we begin, so you can plan around any social commitments.
Blemish & Acne Control treatment
For skin that's congested, oily or actively breaking out, we offer a dedicated Blemish & Acne Control treatment — a deep-cleansing, enzyme-based peel designed to decongest and clear the skin without leaving it tight or dry. It's $140 for the face and $170 for the back, and runs for 45 to 60 minutes. It targets active breakouts, oiliness, congestion, enlarged pores and uneven tone.
Add-ons and treatment courses
Either treatment can be enhanced with a Vitamin C Infusion or an Enzyme Mask, discussed at your consultation. For most skin concerns I recommend a course of 3 to 6 treatments spaced 3 to 4 weeks apart — this is where the real, lasting change happens. To support that, every 6th treatment in a course is complimentary, and clients who complete a 12-treatment annual course receive a complimentary Murad product of up to $120 value.
Can peels be combined with other treatments?
Yes — Murad peels combine well with skin needling, though they must be appropriately spaced and are never performed on the same day. In a well-designed treatment plan they complement each other beautifully — peels address surface concerns while needling works at a deeper structural level. I'll always design a sequenced treatment plan based on your specific goals.
What products should I use at home to support my peel results?
Post-peel skincare is critical. For the first week after a peel, use only gentle, non-active products and apply mineral SPF every single morning without fail. I recommend Airyday Pretty in Zinc SPF50+ as the post-treatment SPF standard, and the Murad AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser as part of your maintenance routine between peel sessions. You'll find the full professional range on our Murad collection page.
Peels are one of those treatments where the homecare you do between sessions genuinely determines how dramatic your results are. SPF every day — no exceptions.
