Aftercare: Korean Glass Facial Treatment

This document is for existing patients of The Glow Co. Aesthetics. It has been prepared by Registered Nurse Lisa to support your recovery following treatment received at our clinic. It is not intended for general publication and does not constitute advertising or promotion of any prescription medicine. All prescription medicines are prescribed by our clinic's medical practitioner following individual clinical assessment.

Your Treatment

Today you received a Korean Glass Facial at The Glow Co. Aesthetics. This treatment involves micro-injections of non-crosslinked hyaluronic acid, a Schedule 4 prescription medicine, delivered intradermally across the face. The hyaluronic acid is dispersed evenly through the superficial layers of the skin to deeply hydrate, refine texture, and improve overall skin quality.

Unlike structural filler treatments, the Korean Glass Facial targets skin quality rather than volume or contour. Results develop over the days following treatment as the skin absorbs the hydrating ingredients and the micro-injection points settle.

What to Expect

The following are normal and expected responses following your treatment:

  • Mild redness or a flushed appearance across the face, settling within a few hours
  • Slight swelling or a soft, raised texture at injection points, resolving within 24 to 72 hours
  • Localised tenderness or sensitivity to touch in the treated areas for 24 to 48 hours
  • Occasional bruising, particularly under the eyes or near the jawline, resolving within 7 to 14 days
  • An immediate dewy appearance to the skin, which reflects initial swelling rather than final results. Allow 5 to 7 days for the full effect to develop

Aftercare Instructions

For the First 12 to 24 Hours

  • Do not apply makeup for at least 12 hours. 24 hours is preferable
  • Do not touch, press, or massage your face
  • Avoid hot showers, saunas, steam rooms, vigorous exercise, and alcohol
  • Sleep with your head slightly elevated to minimise swelling
  • Apply a soothing, hydrating moisturiser to support skin comfort
  • Apply a broad-spectrum SPF 50+ and avoid direct sun exposure

For the First 3 Days

  • Cleanse gently with a non-active, non-abrasive cleanser
  • Avoid active skincare ingredients including retinoids, AHAs, BHAs, and vitamin C serums
  • Continue to avoid saunas, steam rooms, and high-intensity exercise
  • Stay well hydrated to support skin recovery
  • Apply SPF 50+ daily

For the First 2 Weeks

  • Avoid facials, chemical peels, skin needling, or laser treatments to the treated area
  • Reintroduce active skincare ingredients gradually once the skin has fully settled
  • Continue daily SPF application

When You Will See Results

The Korean Glass Facial delivers progressive results rather than an immediate dramatic change:

  • Immediately: A dewy, hydrated appearance reflecting initial product presence in the skin
  • Days 5 to 7: Full effect develops as the skin absorbs the hyaluronic acid and micro-injection points settle completely
  • Results include: Smoother, more hydrated skin, refined texture, reduced appearance of fine lines and visible pores, and a brighter overall complexion

A series of 2 to 3 treatments spaced 4 weeks apart is typically recommended to achieve and maintain optimal results. Nurse Lisa will discuss the appropriate treatment plan for your skin at your review appointment.
