How to Build a Mineral Makeup Routine, Base to Setting
Mineral makeup is wonderfully simple once you know the order of play. You do not need a drawer full of products, just a few good ones used in the right sequence. Here is the base-to-setting routine I recommend to patients, using the Guiya Minerals range.
Step 1: Start with prepped skin
Mineral makeup looks its best on clean, moisturised skin. Cleanse, apply your usual moisturiser, and let it absorb for a minute. If you are heading outdoors, this is also the moment for your sunscreen. Smooth, hydrated skin gives minerals something even to sit on.
Step 2: Base
Begin with the bestselling Z-Cote Zinc BB Cream for light, even coverage with the comfort of zinc. Build it gently where you want a little more evenness. For a luminous, hydrated finish, a few drops of the Oil Goddess of Eternal Youth face oil pressed in first gives a beautiful glow.
Step 3: Conceal and correct
Tap the Concealer Eyebright over any redness, blemishes or under-eye shadows. A little goes a long way with minerals, so build slowly.
Step 4: Colour
Bring the face to life with a wash of Cheeky Liquid Blush on the cheeks, and add a soft lit-from-within sheen with the Golden Hour Liquid Illuminator on the high points of the face.
Step 5: Set
Lock everything in with the Fusion Semi-Loose Powder, then finish with a mist of Aura Finishing Spray to melt any powdery edges and help your makeup last.
A gentle routine for treated skin
Because every Guiya formula is post-treatment safe and non-comedogenic, this same routine works beautifully for sensitive or healing skin. If you have recently had a peel or skin needling, follow my post-treatment makeup guidance on timing. To match shades and formulas to your skin in person, book a skin consultation in Brisbane.
